Hi David, Do security system installers that have moved into fitting IP based systems not find there is a lot of competition from IT companies or network installers who would most likely have a lot more experience with IP networks? Is this type of company not going to take over the work traditionally done by security installers now that it lies more within their area of expertise? Surely the only main thing they would have to learn is how to position the cameras, but once they know how to do that wouldn't it just be like connecting up and configuring another computing device to a network?
Dear Scott,

You are absolutely correct and security installers are seeing more and more competition from IT companies. We as a manufacturer encourage the formation of partnerships between IT companies with network experience and CCTV installer with camera / matrix / alarm and detection experience, and have seen great business success through these partnerships.

You are also right in saying that the connection and configuration of the device to the network is just like connecting any network peripheral, however most IT companies see this as an area they would rather sub contract than get involved themselves.
