Formerly the Oxford Centre for Management Studies, the Said Business School at Oxford University is a world leader in the field of executive business education.

When the time came for an overhaul of the School's security installation, Vicon Industries was called in to supply its Nova V1422 CCTV control and switching system.

The V1422 is a self-contained CPU-based unit which allows for up to 32 camera inputs and eight monitor outputs. An additional RS-232 port offers an output to a printer for recording specific alarm incident records, while Vicon's ProTech Graphic Configurator software has been supplied as standard.

In conjunction with the V1422, ADT has also installed a series of Vicon's ViStar 35 pan and tilt and Surveyor dome cameras at strategic locations around the site.

Fixed-speed ViStar units pan at 6 degress per second, tilting at 3 degrees per second.

At the Said Business School, ViStar cameras feature a four-pin drive design with high-detent torque. This eliminates the need for breaking while delivering a smooth camera motion.
