Arup Associates has specified cavity wall and internal wall lining insulation from Celotex's double-R range in its design for the new £101m City of Manchester Stadium.
The 48,500-seat stadium hosted last year's Commonwealth Games and will be home to Manchester City Football Club.

The concrete frame building uses 1480m2 of Celotex Tuff-R CW2000 cavity wall insulation in three thicknesses (48mm, 38mm and 25mm) in external panels around the stadium's first floor. Tuff-R CW2000 is a rigid polyisocyanurate foam thermal insulation board with reflective foil facings on both sides. This board is designed as a partial fill cavity insulation for masonry walls.

Some stadium areas are heated and others unheated. Around 1000m2 of Celotex double-R GA2048 insulation was used to insulate above ceilings in unfinished wall areas.

Double-R GA2000 is a multi-purpose insulation board for use in pitched roofing, walls and floors. Applications include lining of timber frame and masonry walls, pitched roof sarking, inter- and sub-rafter insulation, and insulation of heated and unheated concrete floors.
