Consultant buys Sworn King for £377,000

Consultant Baqus has bought Oxford-based quantity surveyor Sworn King for £377,000.

Baqus, which is listed on the alternative investment market, said the deal would boost its education and public sector business.

Clive Sayer, Baqus chief executive, said: “Sworn King has an excellent reputation in the education and public sector markets, which were two key areas we highlighted in our expansion plans.â€

In the year to 31 March 2008, Sworn King made a pre-tax profit of £129,682 on turnover of £798,730.

The deal comes the week after Baqus signed a share option agreement with Liverpool-based Brian Hannaby & Associates. The firm said it was in talks with a number of other companies with a view to further expansion.
