Siemens Ðǿմ«Ã½ Technologies has launched the Synco 100 range, for hvac control. Each controller incorporates an integral LG-Ni 1000 temperature sensor, mounting accessories, a microprocessor, and simple analogue settings. There are five models in the range. The RLE 162 immersion temperature controller provides fast, reliable water temperature control between a range of –10°C to 130°C. The RLE132 immersion temperature controller range operates between 0°C and 130°C. The RLM162 has a control range within 0°C to 50°C and is used in supply or extract air temperature control in ventilation or air conditioning plants that use heating and/or cooling. The RLE125 differential temperature controller is suited for solar energy storage components and the RLA162 room temperature controller enables individual rooms to be serviced by hvac plant with a temperature range of 8°C to 30°C.

Vacuum system wastes no space
Meiko UK has launched the Micro Vac vacuum food waste disposal system. Utilising standard 50 mm plastic soil piping, the system is made up of only four standard components: a stainless steel food waste inlet, the pulped waste storage tank, the liquid separator and the vacuum pump and control unit.
The food waste inlet is designed as a workbench to form an integral part of the kitchen layout and grinds and mixes the food waste with a measured amount of water. Interconnecting 50 mm pipework from the kitchen to the liquid separator is simple to install and can be located within false ceilings or run parallel to other waste water pipework.
Micro Vac systems can handle up to 180 litres/hour of food waste per waste inlet and a maximum of two inlets can be placed up to 70 m from the waste storage vessel. The waste slurry is transported to the liquid separator located within the storage tank, which extracts the majority of the water and directs this by gravity to drain.Systems are suitable for use in food or retail premises, butchery departments, supermarkets and food manufacturing operations.
Smaller member
Worcester Bosch has introduced its Greenstar HE 12-22 condensing oil-fired boiler. The unit offers the same specification as its larger predecessor but at a reduced height of 867 mm.
It is positioned in SEDBUK band A with a rating of 90·7 % with a secondary stainless steel condensing heat exchanger, which extracts the latent heat in the flue gases.
The Greenstar HE 12-22 has an output of 12 -22 kW and measures 867 mm high, 585 mm wide and 625 mm deep. It is compatible with open and sealed systems and has a 125 mm plastic RS flue system providing a number of options – up to 5 m horizontally and vertically and 90° and 45° bends.
Easy-to-use control panel
ADE has launched a low cost wired six-zone proximity based security alarm control panel.
The Logic Six uses proximity based battery-less transponders that enable the setting and un-setting of the panel to be undertaken without any complex programming routines. The unit comes with two pre-learnt key fobs and a built in reader so that it is ready to use without the contractor having to carry out any programming.
Facilities like part set, walk test and entry time are made simple to implement by the selection of only three switches located within the control panel. Users simply have to present a key fob to the reader.
The reader's memory retains details of programmed fobs in the event of a mains failure. As well as leds to indicate status an internal speaker provides and audible indication.
Monitoring from anywhere
ABB has launched an intelligent Ethernet module that connects drives to the internet. The Ethernet works with any ABB drive that provides a fibre optic link, communicating via a standard web browser.
The user can set up a virtual monitoring room wherever there is a pc with an internet connection. This enables remote monitoring, configuration, diagnostics and, when needed, control.
The drive can also process related information, such as load level, run time, energy consumption and input/output data. The module has an embedded server with all the software for user interface, communication and data storage.
Quiet cassette fits right in
Daikin Europe NV has launched a 600 mm x 600 mm multi-flow ceiling cassette that fits into a standard tile space. The unit, a four-way blow cassette is also compatible with the company's VRV outdoor units. Units are available in four models (25, 35, 50 and 60 series) with capacities between 2·5 kW and 5·5 kW (cooling) and 3·4 kW and 7 kW (heating). Quiet operation makes them suitable for use in shops, offices and larger residential premises. Air discharge angles of between 0° and 40° allow a horizontal airflow in order to minimise draughts. The overall weight of the 50 and 60 series units is 17·6 kg, around 6 kg less than the FHYCP equivalent cassettes.
Flexible fan
Fläkt Woods has introduced the Centripal EU, a range of industrial centrifugal fans. Designed to meet reduced lead times and maximum energy efficiency, coupled with low lifetime costs, the Centripal EU diameters range from 315 mm up to 1400 mm. An overhung impeller is directly fitted onto the motor shaft, so there are no belts, or bearings, which allows for easy maintenance and greater efficiency. Users can change the orientation of the fan housing without disassembly by repositioning the support feet on the patented octagonal design. It has 12 outlet configurations, every 45°, offering great flexibility and a small footprint.
The multi foot support of the fan enables the withdrawal of the fan impeller motor assembly easily from the scroll that may be already fixed into the system ductwork. The range can be supplied with air contact parts manufactured in stainless steel for demanding industrial processes and hazardous areas.
Condensing to the max
Bitzer UK is introducing Friga-Bohn's Maxi condensing unit to the UK. The unit allows the use of either hermetic, semi-hermetic or scroll compressor technology. By careful matching of coil surface areas and air volumes, very low operational sound levels have been achieved without the need for special enclosures. Models are available with one to four fans, and differing rotation speeds dependent upon capacity and sound requirements. The design ensures suitability for sensitive locations. A factory-fit liquid line pre-equipped with a filter drier, sight glass and shut off valve simplifies installation.
Filter housing avoids air bypass
McLeod Russel has launched a range of filter housings to the UK market, especially designed to eradicate air bypass. The GD filter housing range is engineered and manufactured by McLeod Russel's Swedish sister company Scandfilter.
The housings feature a lever seal mechanism on the header frame of the filter, ensuring that the filter is properly clamped against the sealing face in the housing, preventing air bypass. The design of the clamp makes it impossible for the door to be closed unless the filter is securely clamped in place. The range is designed for quick installation, with clip together housings. A prefilter bag, bag filter and carbon filter, each in its own housing, can be carried in separately and clipped together to form a complete filter system.
