For a quarter of a century the CIOB has proudly hosted the most rigorous and hotly contested awards in the construction industry: the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Manager of the Year Awards. Now it is all coming to an end.

Well, the name is coming to an end, anyway.

As of this year, the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Manager of the Year becomes the Construction Manager of the Year Awards, and gets some spanking new categories to boot.

"The industry continues to move on and so do we," said the CIOB's senior vice-president Colin Busby.

"The new awards reflect those changes and recognise management excellence across the whole range of construction projects."

Nominations are now open for 10 categories, including PFI contracts, Sport & Leisure and Fit Out, distinctions that were previously absent.

The awards, to be held 16 October this year, have also moved further up Park Lane to the more prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel.
