Making a kiln: An estate of 1920s concrete houses in Surrey is to be redeveloped into these homes for shared ownership, rent and sale. The shared ownership homes will be provided by Thames Valley Housing Association. Waverley council and developer Lovell will rebuild the Kiln Fields estate in Haslemere in three phases over 30 months. A five-a-side football match between staff from the council and Lovell will kick off the first phase. The first phase will yield 17 council homes, a sports pavilion and recreation ground by January 2004.
