Liverpool council is hoping to transfer its remaining eastern fringe stock to two other new housing associations over the next few weeks, bringing the total number of homes transferred to 13,000.
The housing associations will pay the council £5.1m for the homes.
Meanwhile, Rushcliffe council in Nottinghamshire has completed the transfer of its 3500 homes to Rushcliffe Homes, a subsidiary of Metropolitan Housing Trust.
The move follows a survey that showed future maintenance needs were likely to be underfunded, although the homes had been reasonably maintained. The purchase and improvements are being funded by £55m from Nationwide.
