Micro light
Thorn Lighting has introduced the Micropak T5 fluorescent lighting package. Available as a surface mounted or suspended fitting, or a three-circuit track system in a variety of lengths and wattages, Micropak features a 'click-stop' lampholder for both single and twin lamp versions. The adjustable lamp position and small fitting size provide a number of opportunities for architects and designers to create lighting features within the structure of building interiors.

A range of attachments are available including vdt louvres, diffusers, deco reflectors, and asymmetric or symmetric reflectors.

Colour can be introduced by the addition of coloured rods which slide into place along the edges of attachments to create visual interest. Internal emergency lighting versions can also be supplied.

S-Light panels add illumination
The S-Light luminaire concept from Luxo Vega is a system of extremely thin panels that offer decoration as well as illumination.

S-Light is formed of a composite plate; a sandwich of aluminium sheet with a layer of polyethylene interposed, and with the surface enamelled. The panels are available in a variety of shapes and can be wired for a variety of light sources.

The S-Light system will provide direct or direct/indirect illumination with the use of mini-grid louvres, diffusers and combined decorative polycarbonate inserts. Spotlights can also be incorporated into the S-Light luminaires.

The system includes suspension attachments which can be used singly or continually to give smooth integration between the luminaire and the ceiling. S-Light can be wall or ceiling mounted.

Aico battens
Aico has launched the Davis range of fluorescent battens. The range includes single and twin lamp models in both lpf and hpf versions, as well as Square Line diffused battens, Round Daikon diffused battens, diffuser conversion kits and accessories. The range is suited for commercial, industrial or domestic applications.

The battens are designed to be quick and easy to install and maintain. Features include an easy-fit cover tray with twist lock fasteners requiring no special tools, a high quality large bore connector block and pre-bored 25 mm cable entry hole.

For extra safety, high temperature rated cable is used for all connections along with a high quality starter and polycarbonate sockets.

Casings are powder coated both inside and out, with batten end caps uv stabilised to reduce yellowing over time. Rotary lampholders make for easier relamping.

LED displays forge ahead
Forge Europa can now offer a range of white led displays. Three seven segment and two dot matrix devices are offered in the initial range from 7·6 mm to 30 mm character height. Other sizes will be available in the near future.

Features of the new products include consistent emission characteristics, a colour not previously available in dot matrix form, and displays which are x, y stackable.

Long-life lamps
Designplan Lighting's Sterilux fittings are now available with Philips' long-life QL 165 W fluorescent induction lamps, making them suitable for use in difficult to reach applications.

They are available in square and circular designs and are finished as standard in a white polyester powder coating.

The square design is manufactured from zinc-coated steel with a polycarbonate diffuser mounted in an aluminium frame. Units are available for surface, semi-recessed or fully recessed fitting and can be supplied for top access.

The circular fitting features a spun aluminium housing with control gear in cast aluminium. A clear or patterned circular polycarbonate diffuser is secured with stainless steel screws against a silicon gasket. Supplied complete with flying lead, the unit can be surface or suspension mounted.

The light way
BCP Lighting has introduced a range of 20 bollards for amenity lighting applications. The one metre high bollards are manufactured from die-cast aluminium and are finished in black or silver.

The bollards vary in diameter from 140 mm to 220 mm and are suitable for lamps ranging from 26 W plc to 70 W hid.

A variety of optics are available, from all round light distribution for courtyards and lighting buildings, to cut-off optics which comply with the dark sky requirements.

Vandal resistant versions are also available with aluminium fins to protect the optics.

Contemporary wall light
LightGraphix has launched the 10238 Asymmetric wall light for internal applications.

The unit has a contemporary square design and can be mounted as either an uplighter or downlighter.

The luminaire is suitable for 12 V, 20 W and 50 W lamps or a 10 000 h 20 W G4 xenon lamp.

The unit requires a 60 mm recess in the wall with a surrounding flange available in metallic silver grey RAL 9006. The clear glass face can be slid in from the side.
