Tenants in Lanarkshire’s Viewpark area have recorded a 100 per cent ‘yes’ vote in favour of transferring to Clyde Valley Housing Association.
The result follows a similar victory in Uddingston’s Birkenshaw estate, where 93 per cent of those who voted opted for the move to the association.
For Viewpark it means that existing homes in the area will be demolished and 84 new homes built for tenants.
The news comes as Shetland council announced that its stock transfer ballot would be put on hold.
The Scottish Executive was evaluating the business plan that had been put forward by prospective transfer landlord Shetland Homes, head of housing services Chris Medley explained.
