Housing Today meets a Jean-Luc Picard fan
Name
Evette Price

New job
Regional director of Flagship Housing Group, in East Anglia

Old job
Head of customer and housing services at Flintshire council, in Wales

First job in housing
Housing trainee with Chester City Council

Dream job
"Before I started working in housing, I always fancied Barry Norman's old job. I think it would be great fun to present Film 2003."

Hobbies
"Theatre, cinema and going to the gym."

Favourite film
"That's difficult – there are so many films I have enjoyed. However, The Blues Brothers would be in my top 10, for the hilarious lines and funky music."

Favourite book
"Another tricky one. I love the writing of Joseph Heller and Bill Bryson. If I had to choose one, it would be Catch 22 by Joseph Heller."

If you could be anyone else, who would you be?
"I'm quite happy being me, but I wouldn't mind the singing voice of Diana Ross, the athletic ability of Denise Lewis and the management skills of Captain Jean-Luc Picard."

If you could interview anyone, who would you pick and what would you ask them?
"Antonio Gaudí. I'd ask, did you have a plan for the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona – and do you realise it's not finished yet?"

If you could change anything about the housing sector, what would it be?
"I'd like to get rid of the stigma that often comes with the mention of social housing. Changing attitudes takes time but it's up to us in the social sector to prove that we have a good product that we can manage well."
