21st Century heating has been installed in a 1930s apartment block in Hove, Sussex, bringing space and energy savings.
Rochester Close was heated by a central system run from a cast iron boiler that had been converted from coal to gas-fired. This has been replaced by four Viessmann Vitodens 200 condensing boilers, which work as a module, and two Vitocell storage cylinders.
The new system works on ripple control to closely match demand and supply, so reducing waste energy. It can provide a maximum 266 kW of energy and seasonal efficiency is expected to rise by 40%.
Bostell Brothers of Brighton carried out the installation.
