A double-storey pavilion on Hong Kong's waterfront is to showcase UK housing technology in the Far East. The £10m Integer Hong Kong Project opens in November and will demonstrate sustainable design and construction methods that aim to save time and money.

At the heart of the pavilion will be two show apartments demonstrating intelligent and green technologies including wireless devices, central controls, multimedia entertainment and learning, and smart bathrooms and kitchen appliances.

The pavilion will provide a meeting place for housing experts from all over the world. A research programme will draw on experiences in Hong Kong and London to develop designs and solutions for high-rise buildings, and an education programme will ensure 100 000 school children study the project as part of their school curriculum.

The technologies on display are based on those developed in the construction of the Integer Millennium House in Watford and other Integer pilot schemes in the UK.
