Standard Chartered bank is understood to be at the 'confidential stage of negotiations' in the contract for its City portfolio.
Haden and MITIE Group are believed to be heading up the shortlist for the contract which is in the closing stages of prequalification.

A spokesperson from Haden confirmed that it had tendered for the contract, but that as yet no decision had been reached.

Invitations to tender for the South East Asian facilities management contract are also expected in the near future.

This suggests that Standard Chartered has concluded the review of its international portfolio, which began in May 2000.

Johnson Controls, Citex and TramellCrowSavills are thought to be likely bidders.
