The move is the latest in the Association's drive to improve the industry's health and safety record via its ZAP initiative. Its targets are to achieve zero fatal accidents; a 40% reduction in major lost time accidents; and a 30% reduction in reportable lost time accidents of three days or more.
Visitors to which is due to go live with the new section in early September, will be able to download the ZAP brochure. They can also find information on the health and safety courses that support ZAP and get good practice information on common problems such as falls.
The web site will contain details of the changes to the rules regarding the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card. From February 2003 it will be mandatory to have health and safety knowledge documented on the card. A computer test is to be implemented to test knowledge, and the web site will assist by giving sample answers to multiple choice questions.
