As a tenant board member with Maidenhead and District Housing Association I think the proposal to pay housing benefit direct to tenants is ridiculous.

The person who thought of this must be some sort of comedian. It will surely cause more rent arrears and add cost to any association or council with tenants.

This could also lead to many more evictions and discrimination. I think funders will be more cautious on lending where arrears are more prominent.

Perhaps the Department for Work and Pensions should have tenants on its board?
