Ellen Bennett meets a man who swapped firefighting for housing and others on the move

Beacon Youth Trust has appointed Leah Chamberlain to manage its new foyer for young people. Chamberlain joins the housing sector from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College.

HELEN CROFT
Helen Croft has joined East Midlands Housing Association as management accountant.

NETTE CARDER
Nette Carder has been appointed director of housing and care at London-based housing association Look Ahead. Carder joins Look Ahead from Wakefield and Swindon social services, where she was an interim manager of adult services.

ANNE SHAW
Rosemary Simmons Housing Association has made Anne Shaw operations director. Shaw previously held senior posts at Westminster council and the Corporation of London. Meanwhile, Carol Rampersad has been promoted to the post of finance director.

PETER URWIN
The new post of development manager at Endeavour Housing Association has gone to Peter Urwin, who has worked at the Tees Valley-based association for three years.
