Negotiations are going ahead with US company, Numerex, regarding the purchase of BT RedCARE, a spokesman has confirmed.
A spokesman said although no sale had not yet been agreed, "…we are in negotiation with Numerex. It's looking the most likely."

British Telecom confirmed it was looking for a buyer for BT RedCARE at the beginning of the year.

The spokesman said there would be no changes to the services offered to installers: "Everything is going ahead as usual. There are no major changes, the same staffing, the same excellent service".

BT RedCARE employs more than 200 staff.

Numerex Corp is a US specialist in wireless data products and services. The company, based in Atlanta, described the negotiations as continuing. No financial details have been disclosed.

Numerex is reported to have said that the announcement about the negotiations was being made so that employees of BT RedCARE can be informed of the proposed purchaser and full consultation with the trade unions can be progressed.

Numerex Corp is a technology company comprised of operating subsidiaries that develop and market a wide range of communications products and services.
