Biometrics, wireless networking, integration software and digital surveillance are some of the emerging technologies being used to create future-proof secure terminals.

   Biometrics are becoming the basis of an extensive array of highly secure identification and personal verification solutions, say the exhibition organisers. Iris, fingertip and facial biometric trials are underway in a number of airports with aims to enhance security and improve passenger flow.

   Biometric screening is also being tested to control access to secure areas by airport and airline staff.

   Airport, Port and Terminal Security was launched last year.
