The Audit Commission has published its first inspection report for a housing association, a little more than a month after it took on the role of single housing inspectorate
Methodist Homes Housing Association, part of specialist housing provider MHA Care Group, was found to offer a "highly satisfactory" service to tenants.Elsewhere, Sedgefield council was praised by the commission for having improved its repairs and maintenance service from poor to fair with promising prospects for improvement within one year. King's Lynn and West Norfolk councils' housing services were both rated fair with poor prospects for improvement.
Although the report bears the Audit Commission badge, Housing Corporation inspectors carried out the inspection. Unlike Audit Commission inspections on local authority landlords, the report did not give Methodist a star rating.
