Chief executive of Alfred McAlpine, Oliver Whitehead, will become chairman in August, to be suceeded as chief executive by Ian Grice.

Kier has split the roles of chairman and chief executive, both currently held by Colin Busby. Busby will remain chairman but John Dodds will take over as chief executive.
