Andover controls has announced its sponsorship of the Best Security Consultant category in this year's Security Excellence Awards.
The Balfour Beatty company – manufacturers of the Integral range of digital CCTV recorders – will present the award at a glittering awards evening to be held at Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London on September 29.

   Andover joins other sponsors, Southern Monitoring Services, Intrepid Security Solutions, Third Millennium, Prima Corporate Wear and Dedicated Micros, in the awards organised by the Builder Group, publishers of Security Installer and SMT magazines.

   "The award is recognition of demonstrable consultancy excellence and is given to an individual or consultancy practice," said Andover's Integral Development Manager, Graham Porter.

   The judging criteria include security expertise, recent relevant experience, evidence of leadership or participation in the wider security community and "star quality" – the special something that sets the winner apart from other consultants.

   To be eligible for consideration, security should comprise at least 50 per cent of the entrant's activities. "We recognise the importance to end users of impartial, quality advice from experts in the field," said Mr Porter.

   "Although we have no input in the judging of this Award, we would urge any consultant who feels they fulfil the criteria to enter this category."
