MHS Homes is a transfer landlord and has been paying its board members since its inception in 1990. As an unregistered association, our board is made up both of executive and non-executive members. All board members are paid.
We have just appointed a new non-executive member. The response to our advert was excellent. The shortlist was first class and our appointee will bring excellent financial skills to the board. We could easily have appointed the others from our shortlist.
Our experience of attendance by board members at meetings is also very good and for most years has been 100%. These non-executives are also available outside the normal meeting cycle.
In common with colleagues at other registered social landlords, we are trying to run a complex multimillion-pound business professionally. We employ professionals and pay properly for their skills because you get what you pay for.
