Only five years after its launch, an alarm receiving centre has signed up its 250th site.
Midlands based Cougar Monitoring protects sites throughout the UK including freight companies, motor compounds factories, schools and high value asset companies.

The company is run by four directors, all retired police officers. They acknowledge the role that Adpro Fast Scan transmission technology has played in the company's success.

Said Joint MD, Michael Holder: "When we looked for a transmission system, speed, reliability and flexibility were our key factors. Adpro proved the best solution on all counts…"

Fast Scan III via ISDN allows Cougar to accommodate an alarm count of between 27-38,000 every 24 hours. Touch screen monitors interfaced with seven Fast Scan receivers allow staff to control PTZ and dome cameras to verify alarms. Any tampering with transmitters or cameras is identified in the control room as a "No video signal" message.
