As one housing insider observed: "The housing association sector is pretty republican. There has been hardly any interest in jubilee celebrations because the sector doesn't feel comfortable with it."
Windsor Housing, part of the Parkside Housing Group, owns and manages social housing near Windsor Castle. Community liaison officer Sue Ford said: "We are not organising any parties, but we are supporting some."
The association's sheltered schemes will hold street parties and "remembrance" events. It is also helping a group of tenants finance a float for a local street carnival. Ford added. "Some people are only just getting into it."
A spokeswoman for Dundee council, close to Balmoral, admitted she was "not aware" of any plans for a tenants' celebration other than citywide events.
But Minster Housing Association, which holds stock near Sandringham, seems to have entered into the spirit of things.
It is sending cakes to each of the parties at its eight sheltered housing schemes, and its headquarters are shutting early on Friday so that staff can have a barbeque.
