Work has begun on Norbain’s new distribution centre at Ashton Moss in Lancashire. The 50,000 square foot warehouse will more than double the number of pick locations – and therefore product lines – that Norbain will be able to stock.
“Reaching this stage is the product of 18 months of research, evaluation and planning,” Norbain operations manager Alan Heath said. “The facility will increase Norbain’s stockholding significantly, with pallet spaces increasing from 1700 to 3250, and pick locations increasing from 4600 to 9574.
“The latest picking and transit technology will be used within the centre to ensure Norbain continues to offer its customers the very best customer service levels available in the industry.”
Norbain has also signed a three-year distribution agreement for the supply of CCTV products with facilities management company Romec. Under the terms of the deal, Romec will source its customers’ key CCTV requirements exclusively from Norbain.
