Wendland is stepping out of the shadows with new management, a new attitude, and new products that should signal a performance befitting a Latium Group company
One of the discreet operators of the UK conservatory industry, Wendland Roof Solutions is stepping out of the shadows to reveal a number of new business and product initiatives.
A recent visit to Wendland’s impressive new 100,000 sq. ft head office facilities in Quedgeley, Gloucester was also an opportunity to meet recently appointed Managing Director Graham Fisher and Head of Marketing, Iain McInnes.
By all accounts, 2004 was a year of investment – £3 million worth on premises, infrastructure and new products.
New products
But the real New Year message from Wendland is a set of new products that will have an impact on business and the marketplace generally:
Modual – a ‘revolutionary’ modular low pitch roof solution that has found favour in customer trials; Sympla – dubbed the next generation in conservatory software, offering genuine integration by being the first piece of software that can be used by a salesman, surveyor and fabricator; and Sundyal – a roof extension, but with the simplicity of design and build offered by conservatories.
Until now, a low pitch roof kit has lacking in Wendland’s offering. Modual can be installed in less than 50 minutes and consists of just 21 core components. This low pitch can achieve up to 4.5 metre projections with no additional support, and boasts some features for easy location and installation in confined spaces.
The Sundyal product bridges the gap between a conservatory and a built extension. The roof is externally clad with a selection of tile finishes. Sundyal can be internally clad with everything from timber tongue and groove boards to PVC-cladding in a range of colours and finishes. The most popular choice is expected to be a plastered finish that can include downlighters. When combined with pre-fabricated brick bases that Wendland is trialling, the overall look was superb.
Wendland’s largest customer is Tailored Roofing Systems of Bolton, but little has been made of it supplying fellow Latium Group companies Everest and Weatherseal. Graham and Iain have been working with these companies to understand the consumer better, and it’s likely we will see the Group philosophy used to make more of the Wendland brand. There has never been a better time.
