Well done to Karen Buck for speaking out on Gypsy and Traveller issues (Debate, 26 July, page 20). It鈥檚 an issue that does need to be highlighted.

Karen Buck鈥檚 comments on the need for progress on Traveller and Gypsy issues are wholeheartedly welcome. These people are probably more marginalised, discriminated against and subjected to racism than any other ethnic group in the UK.

Buck is correct, this 鈥渋ssue can drift no longer鈥�. It is through constructive dialogue and partnership between the public sector, government and Travellers and Gypsies themselves that real progress will be made 鈥� something that Novas-Ouvertures has actively pursued, and been involved in, for the past few years.
