Northern Ireland-based electrical contractor TES (NI) has helped the Ballynacor wastewater treatment works save 20% on the costs of its four motor control centres.
TES supplied an actuator sensor (AS) interface network solution and associated products from Schneider Electric, including Telemecanique variable speed drives, plcs and Merlin Gerin circuit-breakers as part of its contract.
It demonstrated that the AS interface, combined with an Ethernet network for the plcs, would provide the most cost-effective method of controlling the motor control centres. The waste treatment works is part of a £21 million plan by the Northern Ireland Water Service to rationalise sewage treatment facilties and processes in the surrounding area.
