Beleaguered housing association Twynham has appointed a new chief executive to lead the group out of Housing Corporation supervision.
Greg Lomax, head of spatial development at the Greater London Authority and a former deputy chief executive of the corporation, takes over in August. He replaces Ian Matthews, who has been on secondment from Parchment Housing Association.

Lomax said: "The first thing to do is make sure your regulator and lenders are convinced of your capability and capacity to deliver.

"The board has been working very hard to make sure anything that went wrong in the past does not go wrong again. We want to show as quickly as possible that we are on top of everything."

Twynham, based in Dorset, was put under supervision in October 2002 for breaking procedural rules when claiming grant money (HT 7 November 2002, page 13).

The association is now looking for a partner to enter into a group structure (HT 28 March, page 12). It is in discussions with a small number of other associations whose names have not been released.
