Both WSP and White Young Green have seen a healthy rise in profits during 2006.
Preliminary results for WSP for the year ending 31 December show pre-tax profits up 33% to 拢30.7 million. David Turner, chairman of WSP said the group has exceeded its financial targets and sees good opportunities for further growth. 鈥淲e continue to foresee good markets prevailing across the world with particularly strong activity continuing next year in the US and Middle East and in the property and environment sectors鈥. He added that WSP will continue to make niche acquisitions to strengthen its business.
White Young Green reported interim results for the six months to 31 December that showed a 28% increase in profit before tax to 拢6.9 million.
Chairman Peter Wood said. 鈥淭rading conditions are favourable in all key markets, the order book is at a record levels and prospects are strengthening as WYG engages positively to address many of the key demand led issues facing our communities鈥. The company completed four acquisitions in 2006 and announced a further acquisition in late January in a bid to strengthen its engineering capabilities and ongoing development.
鈥 M&E contractor T Clarke saw a 23% drop in profit during 2006. The firm鈥檚 profit fell to 拢6.8 million according to preliminary results for the year to 31 December 2006, compared to 拢8.55 million the year before.Turnover dropped 4% to 拢186 million.
