Over the past two months Regenerate has been working to identify the clients that are leading the way in delivering regeneration across the UK. We defined clients as those who had the lead roles and influence over physical regeneration: delivery agencies, developers, housebuilders, housing associations and local authorities.

We sought to recognise the clients that are demonstrating good practice in processes, teamwork, delivery and lasting quality. They did not have to be the biggest in terms of spending power, development pipeline or land holding.

To produce our Top 50, we asked 100 senior executives in regeneration to give us their nominations with, if possible, a reason for their choice. Our long-list of nominations was whittled down to 50 by an assessment panel of regeneration and housing experts, named below. The assessment panel also ranked the top 25 clients, according to our criteria.

Some nominations recognise the work done by specific individuals within an organisation, and we have included their details in listing information alongside the names of the chief executives.
