Trinity Academy, Doncaster
WHAT: A new city academy in Thorne near Doncaster for client Emmanuel Schools Foundation established by local businessman Sir Peter Vardy. The scheme is on the site of the old Thorne Grammar School.
WHO: A partnering team that includes contractor Surgo Construction, QS Faithful+Gould, architect Howarth Litchfield Partnership and engineer Cundall Johnson Partnership. The team was responsible for the King鈥檚 Academy in Middlesborough.
CONTRACT:Two-stage partnering approach with JCT 98 without quantities with contractor鈥檚 design portion
WHEN: The school opened in October 2005 after a 30-month construction programme.
HOW MUCH: 拢24尘
HOW BIG: 12,960m2 comprising classrooms, laboratories, workshops, IT suites, a sports hall, a lecture theatre and all weather pitches. The school can cater for 1,450 pupils between the ages of 11 and 18.
