From Uponor with love
Full marks must go to a recent press release showcasing a bit of 鈥渟exing up鈥 that would make any hack proud. Uponor Housing Solutions let us know last week that, well, basically the pipes and boilers they make had been installed in someone鈥檚, admittedly rather nice (see below), house. They were put in by contractor Williams and King. Fine.
But in a PR masterstroke the company spiced things up by name-dropping the owner of the property in question 鈥 actress Jane Seymour, who played the role of 鈥淪olitaire鈥 in the James Bond film Live and Let Die, not to mention Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.
And the press release headline? 鈥淏ond Girl鈥檚 Mansion Gets Undercover Heat From Uponor鈥. Spin doctors watch and learn.
That鈥檚 taking work home with you
Good to see from our story last week that QS and project management firm KHK is planning ahead for succession at the firm after it appointed a management board of 30-somethings last week. We understand the firm鈥檚 founders are also preparing for the future by trying their hand at property investment. Word reaches us that founder Jim Kelly is going to be investing in a flat in the ultra-hip Southwark area of South London. The scheme, developed by up-market housebuilder Berkeley, is currently under construction and the QS for the project is KHK itself. Let鈥檚 hope it鈥檚 finished on time and the snagging list is a short one.
