South Yorkshire housing associations have divided the 10 areas of the region's market renewal pathfinder between them.
It's a similar deal to the one struck in Merseyside, where 13 associations have carved up market renewal work (HT 26 September, page 12)

Tony Stacey, chief executive of South Yorkshire Housing Association, said: "We have assigned one of the established housing associations to lead in each area so that the local authorities, the Housing Corporation and the pathfinder authority will have just one organisation to contact.

"The fact that this is happening in Merseyside as well must mean that the time has come for a different kind of working."

The East Lancashire pathfinder is understood to be considering a similar strategy.

The lead housing associations in each area are: North British Housing Association for Sheffield south; Arches for Sheffield east; South Yorkshire Housing Association for Sheffield north, Rotherham east and Rotherham Park Gate; Sadeh Lok Housing Group for Rotherham west; Equity for Rotherham central; Northern Counties for Rotherham Wath and Hallam Housing Society for Doncaster and Barnsley.
