Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir John Stevens has officially launched the Scotland Yard Property Marking and Registration Scheme – a pack which offers protection for users’ TVs, computers, stereo systems, mobile phones and keys.
Items are marked with a visible identifying code and the 24/7 telephone number of the International Security Register (ISR). The owner’s details are held on the ISR, a secure database certified as meeting Police Preferred Specifications through ACPO’s Crime Prevention Initiative.

The packs are being produced by Retainagroup (whose chairman and managing director Wendy Rowe is pictured here with Sir John) in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police Service’s own Events and Income Development Unit.
