The chief executive and managing director of QS and dispute resolution firm Schofield Lothian are to step down this year
Keith Kirkwood and Phil Crow announced a 鈥渟tructured withdrawal鈥 from leading the firm at the company鈥檚 annual review last weekend.
Kirkwood will leave the firm at the end of this month, while Crow ends his tenure as managing director at the end of June. Crow will become executive chairman at the company and will devote more time managing its dispute resolution arm SL Consulting.
Crow said the plan was to appoint a new managing director who would combine some of the roles currently undertaken by both him and Kirkwood.
Crow stressed that there was strong management at the firm, including transportation head Tim Jones and operations director Jim Bourke.
鈥淲e鈥檝e worked hard to create a senior management team that is no longer reliant on individuals, and I think we鈥檝e succeeded,鈥 said Crow.
The firm, first set up in York in the early 1970s, was acquired by support services group Accord in 2002 but has retained its name and a separate management.
Before that it experienced significant growth in the 1990s, acquiring claims consultancy MAS Lothian in 1996 and M&E and building services specialist Gunnell Associates in 1999.
The firm has an annual net fee turnover in excess of 拢14m and a workforce of 230.
