There is no need to change the current rules. The council should use its common sense in situations like this instead of hiding behind red tape and blaming legislation. This family can be offered alternative suitable accommodation in front of the homeless families and asylum seekers if the property suits their needs. This will allow the Clackson flat to be released for smaller families.
