Institution sets up branch for building control professionals

The RICS has launched a new faculty for building control professionals. The discipline previously had a RICS forum, but this has been upgraded to a faculty 鈥渋n recognition of the growth of stature of the discipline鈥� the RICS said.

The new faculty will focus on the implementation of regulations on energy saving, ventilation and fire safety. It will run workshops and training roadshows and work with the Department for Communities and Local Government and the Association of 星空传媒 Engineers.

The RICS 星空传媒 Control Faculty, which succeeds the RICS 星空传媒 Control Forum, resulted from the merger between the RICS and the Institute of 星空传媒 Control in 2001.

Chairman of the faculty Paul Swift said: 鈥淎s a faculty we have additional obligations regarding the provision of services to our members and new opportunities to deliver those services. I am keen that we meet those obligations and aim to have these issues high on our immediate agenda.鈥�
