KX launch
Pyronix has launched the KX Series of detectors, which comprises 11 detectors in one common housing.

The KX Series has on-board selectable alarm resistor values of 6K8, 5K6, 4K7 and 1K, and tamper values of 5K6, 4K7, 2K2, and 1K, catering for most control panels on the market.

"When using the KX Series in-built EOL resistors, installation is kept to a minimum, with no awkward wiring or checking resistor colour codes," Pyronix says. "Simply move the header links supplied to the resistor values required. The KX Series even has the flexibility to still be wired as conventional, normally closed loops."

Pyronix says that in the KX Series, the distance between the pyro-electric sensor and the lens is identical for each detection zone lens. "This eliminates distortion and provides excellent focused zones," the company says.

WatchOut out
With the WatchOut series, Rokonet says it "has come to terms with one of the most vexing problems of security installers 鈥 maintaining high levels of detection in the outdoor environment while eliminating the high numbers of false alarms due to the unstable nature of this environment".

WatchOut has selective event recognition capability that allows it to differentiate between false alarms and real intrusion events using two PIR channels and two microwave channels - the first detector of its kind to do this, Rokonet claims.

WatchOut's innovative Sway-Recognition Technology (utilising two MW channels) measures the travel distance of approaching and receding targets 鈥 identifying whether the target is a swaying branch or a moving intruder.

The Digital Correlation Technology (two PIR channels) compares the signals of two independent PIR channels, ensuring that only targets returning a similar signal in both channels qualify as potential threats. WatchOut has flexible installation options, using swivels to suit any terrain.
