Kenilworth-based specialist communications company, Optilan UK, has been awarded a contract worth more than £3 million to provide a new CCTV system for the City of Hull.
The system, comprising 240 state of the art cameras, some of which are transportable and supported by a City wide radio network, also includes an operator control centre upgrade, digital recording equipment and a substantial matrix system expansion as well as the integration of the existing cameras.CDS Integrated Security Systems won the contract to provide digital technology at St David's Centre, Cardiff, the largest shopping centre in South Wales. The £130,000 contract involves replacing all 25 existing cameras with fully mobile digital systems plus five new cameras. Work was due to take place outside trading hours to ensure minimum disruption.
The expansion of Hull's original network will create one of the largest CCTV systems of its kind worldwide.
