Yes, the Housing Inspectorate did find some serious shortcomings with our repairs and maintenance service (HT 5 September, page 13).
But it also found that the council's response to the inspection was "one of the strongest service improvement plans seen to date and is a reflection of the council's investment of resources to make the improvement of the service a priority".

The lead inspector for the North confirmed that the council's response to the inspectors' draft report was so positive that they had rethought their whole approach to dealing with councils that demonstrate such commitment to improvement. North Lincolnshire's actions have paved the way for improvements in the way the housing inspectorate works with councils who need help in improving their services.

The report from the Audit Commission highlights the commitment from all involved to make our repairs and improvement services among the best in the country.
