NICEIC is set to offer a full range of competent person schemes that will enable its registered contractors to self-certify all notifiable work under Parts F, G, J, L and P of the Ðǿմ«Ã½ Regulations.
The trade body is to introduce new schemes for ventilation, plumbing, combustion appliances and fuel storage, and conservation of fuel and power.
Those registered would be able to self-certify that their work complies with the Ðǿմ«Ã½ Regulations using an online facility, without the need for local authority Ðǿմ«Ã½ Control inspection.
The Ðǿմ«Ã½ Regulations Advisory Committee has confirmed that NICEIC’s application meets the DCLG’s requirements. Subject to ministerial approval, NICEIC is looking to launch the schemes by the end of the year.
