Ready to Wear: Work has started on this £55m redevelopment of the north bank of the River Wear in Sunderland. Designed by Mosedale Gillatt Architects, the project will involve the conversion of the Barbican building at St Peter's Wharf into loft apartments. The first of four phases will comprise 60 apartments and a restaurant–bar. Contractor is Carlisle-based Border Construction, QS is Kingshill Consultants and structural engineer is Patrick Parsons.
