Italian architects Riccardo Bianchini and Federica Lusiardi have fought off 211 entries to win a RIBA competition to design a structure for Cleopatra's Kiosk on the north bank of the Thames in London. The other two designs on the shortlist were by Bath-based practice Rees Smyth Vermont and Aberdeen-based Graham Mitchell Architects. A fourth scheme, designed by Mark Hatter and Ben Edwards, was awarded a special mention. The kiosk is due to reopen next year.
