One for the book: Architect Richard Rogers Partnership outlined designs for a £130m Birmingham Library today. The firm, which won an international competition to design the library in the summer, is working with consultants BDSP and Arup on the scheme. The project will be the heart of a learning quarter planned for the Eastside district in the centre of Birmingham and it is thought will strengthen the city’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture in 2008.
