Firm says performance ‘enocuraging’ after two years of declining sales
ǿմý products firm Marshalls said revenue edged up in the first four months of the year compared to the same period last time.
In a trading update this morning, the firm said income was up 4% to £207m with the firm stemming the fall at its landscaping business which saw turnover slip 3% to £86m during the period – an improvement on the 11% reverse in the second half of last year.
Revenue at the building products business was up 4% to £56m while income at the roofing division was up 15% to £65m. Chief executive Matt Pullen called the performance “encouraging”.
Earlier this year, the firm said that more work in housebuilding and infrastructure such as water work would see a return to growth this year.
Income last year was down 8% to £619m after falling 7% in 2023. The firm will announce its interim results on 11 August.
