David Morley Architects has been awarded an RIBA East Midlands Award for its National Cricket Academy at Loughborough University. The indoor facility is the world’s largest purpose-built cricket training centre. It includes a roof light, pioneered by the architect, that allows the centre to operate without artificial light for most of the year. EC Harris was project manager and QS, Shepherd was the contractor, Price & Myers was structural engineer, and services engineering was by Max Fordham.
