Industry-beating number exceeded firm’s forecast, boss admits
Margins at Bam Nuttall have climbed to more than 6% which the firm’s boss put down to closing out legacy jobs and being pickier about the jobs it worked on.
The civils arm of Bam posted better than expected numbers with a turnover of £1.36bn, a rise of 13% on last time, while pre-tax profit was up 42% to £91m last year giving the company, which counts HS2 and water schemes among its portfolio of contracts, a margin of 6.7%.
Executive director Huw Jones said: “Our 2024 revenue and profit before tax exceeded our forecast. We have continued a prudent growth strategy by securing sustainable revenue through selective tendering with our strategic clients.â€
The firm’s order book at the year-end was £4.2bn with the number of employees flat at 3,542.
