Lab Architecture Studio wins competition to design the new Museum of Bristol.

Bristol City Council has appointed Lab Architecture Studio as lead architect for the new Museum of Bristol. Lab Architecture won the competition from a shortlist of eight candidates, and will begin work on the project immediately.

The museum, which is due to be opened to the public in 2009, will be based on the existing Industrial Museum in the city. The project benefits from almost £11 million from the Heritage Lottery fund. Councillor Richard Pyle said: “Bristol deserves, and will have, a world-class museum.â€
